Greenlight Initiative can help.
Solid state lighting can save energy and money for many of todays lighting applications. The first step is t choose the right company to work with. Greenlight Initiative’s common sense approach will ensure that you are never burned by these “cool LEDs”.
GLI will start by assessing your existing lighting system determining where SSL will be a good fit. Our main goals for each retrofit application are always the same:
-MATH DOES NOT LIE-

- Focus on areas that can ensure a real return, and for which LED lighting has a proven track record. This would include parking areas, site lighting, many warehouse and “back of house applications” among others. We will show you where it makes sense- and always were it does not.
- Determine the costs associated with your existing lighting system on a total cost of ownership basis. Initial costs are important, and on a per project basis our clients will see see the best solution available at the best price, BUT it is never the deciding factor. We will show you why.
- Choose to move forward when the life-cycle shows ROI’s in a reasonable amount of time for the application. A ski slope for instance will of course have a longer payback than a building lobby operating 24/7. GLI will help you determine what the TCO of the incumbent versus the proposed LED lighting system is. If it makes financial sense BEFORE any incentives and rebates, it will only make more when they apply.
- Greenlight Initiative will help determine what incentives or rebates are available for your project. Utility rebates and tax incentives are often overstated or misunderstood by companies presenting “energy efficient” lighting solutions. GLI is committed to accurately identify and utilize all available incentives for each project.
-TRUST BUT VERIFY-
-With care and focus.
Lighting system costs are increasing and facilities are often spending far more per month on the operation and maintenance of that system than they realize.
While LED lighting holds tremendous potential for savings where lighting system costs are concerned, a poor buying decision can be extremely expensive. The same holds true not just for LED lighting, but for all energy retrofit projects. Product data is often misrepresentative of actual field performance.
Avoid sales pressure and use a cautionary approach and always initiate a mock up or pilot. This will allow time to see performance first hand and also to be sure that the right product is being used for the application.
